JRF Scholars: Lauren Gilliard

Lauren GilliardLauren Gilliard, a Chicago native, is a senior at Hampton University majoring in Finance with a minor in Leadership Studies. Gilliard is very active in her community as a tutor at the Hampton Boys and Girls Club and was a teacher’s assistant at the Jane A. Neil Elementary School. She is the president of the Financial Management National Honors Society. Lauren is also the Treasurer of Alpha Kappa Mu, which are the Top 10% students at Hampton. She recently joined the Student Leadership Program and is also Co-Chair for Community Service in Women’s Caucus, a committee in the Student Government Association. Lauren is the recipient of the William Harvey Leadership Institute Award, T. Rowe Price Scholarship, Mercedes Benz Scholarship and the Hampton University Dean’s List since 2006. She has interned for Navistar and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, and would eventually like to be a Chief Financial Officer of a Fortune 500 Company.
