Samuel Sinyangwe is a sophomore at Stanford University majoring in Political Science with a minor in International Relations. Samuel has been working as a full-time counselor and technical specialist for the New Image Youth Center, a non-profit center in the heart of Orlando's poorest, highest-crime neighborhood, Parramore. As such, he and the other staff are helping to give thirty-five of Parramore's young "best and brightest" opportunities to lift themselves, their families, and ultimately their neighborhood out of poverty through college visits and information sessions, influential guest speakers, continuous academic tutoring, mentorship, and by providing them a positive environment to keep them off the violent streets and out of trouble. In addition to the positive influence Samuel has had on these thirty-five kids, he also has been working as a congressional intern for both Congresswoman Corrine Brown and Congressman Alan Grayson. Importantly, Samuel led the entire web design and outreach division of Congresswoman Corrine Brown's recent Orlando Job Fair. Samuel's work made it possible to attract over 8,000 constituents to a Job Fair providing thousands of jobs and resources from over 100 employers, resources, and colleges this summer.
