ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Jackie Robinson Foundation’s Education and Leadership Development Program provides
financial aid, mentoring and education and leadership development training for JRF scholarship
recipients.
WHO CAN APPLY
Yes. Only applications submitted by high school seniors will be reviewed.
Yes, however, you must be planning to attend an accredited, four-year college or university within
the United States.
You may attend any college or university in the United States; public or private.
Yes, you must be a United States citizen. Permanent Residents are not eligible for the Jackie
Robinson Foundation Scholarship Award.
HOW TO APPLY
Students interested in applying for the Jackie Robinson Foundation’s Scholarship Award should
visit the JRF website, www.jackierobinson.org and click the area called APPLY. Only applications
completed online at the JRF website will be accepted. The application is available online from
October 15, 2007 through March 31, 2008, 11:59 PM eastern time.
No. Applicants must mail their official high school transcript and a letter of recommendation to:

Applicants must also register online at SAT (www.collegeboard.com - college code 4248) and ACT (www.act.org - college code 6570) to have their scores sent directly to the Jackie Robinson Foundation.

No. Faxed or email applications or components will not be accepted.
You have completed the process when you have submitted the online application, official high
school transcript, one letter of recommendation, official score reports for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT) and a personal essay.

What are the requirements for being a Jackie Robinson Scholar?
- Be a high school senior, accepted to a four-year accredited college or university.
- Be a minority student and a citizen of the United States.
- Have demonstrated high academic achievement and financial need.
- Show evidence of leadership potential and interest in their communities
Who selects the Scholars?
Selections are made by regional JRF Selection Committees, comprised of JRF alumni,
corporate, education, and community leaders from across the nation. The Committees
are based in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Stamford, CT and a
National Committee in New York City. Committees review the applications and
interview candidates. All finalists receive interviews.
When do I find out if I am JRF scholarship recipient?
All applicants will receive notification via e-mail by June 15th.
