The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) named a 51 students to its class of 2019. The prestigious award is bestowed to some of America’s top performing college-bound students who, in addition to their academic prowess, demonstrate leadership potential and a strong history of giving back.
The 51 college freshman, chosen from over 4,000 applicants, join an exemplary group of 157 undergraduate Scholars currently in JRF’s Mentoring and Leadership Development program and studying at 100 colleges and universities across the country. The program transcends financial assistance though a comprehensive set of support services that include year-round mentoring, job placement, career guidance, leadership training and practical life skills.
JRF’s celebrated four-year program results in a nearly 100% graduation rate, more than twice the national average for African American college students
