Jackie Robinson Movie "42" Trailer Released: Watch it Here!

Jackie Robinson Foundation Shares Stage with Olympic Star Gabby Douglas

In the last Citi Field Kids event of the 2012 season, Olympic Gold Medal winner Gabrielle Douglas shared her inspiring story with over 200 youngsters from New York City area schools. The 16 year old Douglas, who won the all-around individual women's gold medal in gymnastics at the London Games was also part of the gold medal-winning U.S. squad that won the team competition. In her remarks, she passed along her gratitude to the Mets and to the Jackie Robinson Foundation noting that pioneering athletes like Jackie Robinson paved the way for her. She told the Citi Field Kids that they could achieve their goals with hard work and determination.

JRF Scholar Angela Frost Joins Mets Star R.A. Dickey for Citi Field Kids Event

Over 100 Citi Kids from the United Neighborhood Houses (UNH) arrived on August 8th at the Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement House in Long Island City for the fourth season of the annual Citi Field Kids program. They were joined by Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar Angela Frost and staff member Dana Tignor, community leaders, Citi Field representatives, Mets staff members, Stony Brook Seawolves team members and New York Mets All-Star renowned knuckleballer pitcher R.A. Dickey.

The Jackie Robinson Foundation has selected 60 new Scholars in its Class of 2016. This new class will join 109 JRF undergraduate Scholars and 13 graduate Fellows , currently supported by the Foundation beginning in the 2012-13 academic year.

The Jackie Robinson Foundation Congratulates the Scholar Class of 2012

Four years ago, 82 incoming college freshmen were selected as Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars. The class of 2012 represented 28 different states, attended 55 different colleges and universities, with 43 different majors. For 37% of this class, they were the first in their family to attend college. Eighteen Scholars of this class graduated with Honors (e.g. summa cum laude, magna cum laude, or cum laude), with close to 25% pursuing graduate studies. Forty-five percent reported that they have found full-time employment.

In its first round of awardees for the 2012-2013 academic year, The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) has selected 56 new Scholars in its Class of 2016. The Foundation provides $7,500 annually over four years to college students who demonstrate both leadership potential and financial need. This new class will join 109 JRF undergraduate Scholars and 13 graduate Fellows, currently supported by the Foundation beginning in the 2012-13 academic year.
