JRF Receives Proceeds from BMO Capital Markets’ Equity Through Education Trading Day

JRF Receives Proceeds from BMO Capital Markets’ Equity Through Education Trading Day

The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) is a proud recipient of funds raised during BMO Capital Markets Equity Through Education Trading Day initiative held on October 3rd. Since its launch in 2005, the program has raised over 12 million dollars for North American charities.

JRF will receive $190,000 of the $1.27 million raised this year. This generous financial support enables the Foundation to provide four-year college scholarships to students who demonstrate academic distinction, leadership capacity and financial need. In addition, JRF provides a comprehensive set of services including peer and professional mentoring, career guidance, internship placement and practical life skills. JRF's innovative approach has rapidly become a national paradigm in minority higher education intervention.

"We are once again honored to partner with BMO Capital Markets in this important initiative,” said JRF President and CEO Della Britton Baeza. “Thanks to this support, JRF has been able to directly provide aid and services to 12 JRF/BMO Capital Markets Scholars, including two who began their academic journey this fall.”

Equity Through Education is a charitable initiative launched by BMO Capital Markets and aimed at creating a more diverse workplace by offering support to help people realize their educational ambitions. Since 2005, BMO Capital Markets has provided JRF with over $1 million in funding from the program.
