On Tuesday, November 27th, the Jackie Robinson Foundation hosted a webinar for National Urban League (NUL) staffers and its affiliates to provide members of the historic civil rights organization with insight into JRF’s highly successful mentoring and leadership program and application process. The NUL is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based organization of its kind dedicated to economic empowerment.
JRF’s Vice-President and Chief Program Officer Dr. Westina Matthews and Director of Leadership Development Damian Travier described “The JRF Effect” in narrowing the achievement gap in higher education. "We were pleased to learn about the comprehensive approach that the Jackie Robinson Foundation takes in ensuring its Scholars' success in college and in their chosen careers," said Robyn Ince , the National Urban League's Senior Director for Education & Youth. “It was also enlightening to learn how JRF provides its student constituents with access to critical networks of support and emphasizes the importance of service to one's community."
