Since 1973, the Jackie Robinson Foundation had provided over $43 million in program assistance, including $21 million in direct financial aid, to 1,300 Scholars from across the nation. We develop our Scholar's potential and mold them into leaders who will carry forth Jackie Robinson's legacy in every facet of their lives. JRF and our volunteers provide hands–on services to our Scholars, elevating their talents and making sure that each Scholar realizes his or her fullest potential.
We focus on the whole student –preparing them to be competitive in a global economy, committed to community service and capable of rising to the challenges of the 21st century.

Over 1,300 JRF Scholars have gone on to become educators, engineers, Wall Street executives, community activists, founders of nonprofits, biomedical researchers, attorneys, and countless other careers professionals. All our Scholars share one thing in common – a commitment to Jackie Robinson's guiding tent that "a life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives" that has been instilled in them as they are required to perform and report on annual community service projects.

The Jackie Robinson Foundation welcomes gifts of stock, securities and other non-cash assets.
A gift of appreciated securities held for more than one year may provide significant benefits to you as a contributor, such as:
- Entitling you to a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the gifted securities as of the date of gift
- Eliminating capital gains tax that would ordinarily become due if you had sold the appreciated securities on the open market and donated the proceeds from the sale to charity
- Claiming your charitable deduction against up to 30% of your adjusted gross income. Any unused deductions can be carried forward over the next five years.
- Providing a way to help you to achieve your long-term financial objective of reducing your income and estate taxes.
If you have securities that have declined in value over the years and are interested in donating them to the Jackie Robinson Foundation, you may find it more advantageous to sell the securities first and contribute the proceeds to JRF as opposed to donating the securities outright. This strategy should allow you to claim a deduction for both the loss from the sale of the securities as well as the charitable gift.
You should always consult with your financial advisor before initiating a charitable gift arrangement.
