Class of 2024 Announcement

With great excitement, the Jackie Robinson Foundation announces the selection of 70 new JRF Scholars, comprising the Class of 2024!

Chosen from 3,048 qualified applicants, once again this year the freshman class of JRF Scholars met a high threshold of academic achievement, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service.

Founded in 1973 by Rachel Robinson and advancing the ideals of equity and opportunity cited in our nation’s Constitution and embodied in the legacy of Jackie Robinson, the Foundation provides generous, multi-year college scholarships and comprehensive support to talented, highly motivated students with financial need.

JRF Scholars receive scholarship awards of $30,000 and participate in a four-year mentoring curriculum, 42 Strategies for Success, which includes career discernment, practical life skills, leadership training, and internship and permanent job placement.

A support system makes the difference between success and failure. Unsurprisingly, JRF Scholars have achieved an average graduation rate of 97%.

“JRF is dedicated to uplifting the next generation of leaders, helping them to self-actualize and populate a workforce that is truly diverse and inclusive,” said JRF’s President & CEO Della Britton. “Over the last 47 years, JRF Scholars have excelled professionally, given back to communities around the globe, and promoted the humanitarian values that define the lives of Rachel and Jackie Robinson.”

The JRF Scholars Class of 2024 – seventeen of whom are valedictorians and salutatorians of their class – represent 23 states and the District of Columbia and attend 46 colleges and universities. With the addition of this year’s class, JRF supports 259 college scholars and Extra Innings Fellows at 118 colleges and universities.
