The Jackie Robinson Foundation was saddened to learn of the passing of long serving board member and political lion, Mark Weiner.
A proud supporter of the Foundation, Mark used his professional acumen, charm and sheer grit, to help drive the Foundation’s first endowment campaign. Elected to the JRF board in 1998, his counsel and expertise were often called upon as the Foundation expanded its national profile.
Mark Weiner’s lifelong passion and commitment to the democratic process led to his formation of Financial Innovations, Inc., one of the largest political mass-marketing firms in the country. For nearly three decades, he served as a trusted and monumental figure in the political arena, having participated in every presidential election since 1976. A sign of his multifaceted talent, Mark also served as founder and chairman of Crimzon Rose Accessories, along with his partner, Felix Porcaro. Together, they created the top ten largest jewelry manufacturing companies in the United States.
JRF Founder Rachel Robinson, President Della Britton, and Chairman Emeritus Leonard S. Coleman, Jr., all personal friends of Mark, and the entire JRF community extend deepest condolences to Mark’s wife Susan and his four children, Kathy, Steven, Zoe and Richard.
On the eve of a presidential election, a dynamic, powerful voice and compassionate advocate for the less fortunate will be missing from the season. May he rest in peace.
