JRF Receives $1M towards JR Museum

June 10, 2015 - Jackie Robinson, News

The Foundation continues to work towards its goal of building a museum in lower Manhattan to honor Jackie Robinson’s contributions to baseball and to American society. JRF recently received an anonymous $1 million gift to support the Museum project, which needs $7 million more in contributions to open its doors. In addition to showcasing artifacts from Jackie Robinson’s life, the museum will serve as a venue for vibrant dialogue on critical social issues and as a destination for innovative educational programming.

The Jackie Robinson Museum is a part of an ambitious $42 million campaign that includes a sizable endowment to ensure Jackie’s living legacy is preserved for years to come. The Foundation is humbled by this extraordinary act of kindness and appreciates each supporter for the role they play in bringing this dream to fruition.
