Driven by his passionate curiosity and endless pursuit of knowledge, Maverick Carter is a natural-born storyteller and entrepreneur. With an extensive background in marketing and business development, Carter serves as CEO of LRMR Ventures, the venture company he helped build that oversees all of his and LeBron James’ investments and business assets including the companies they co-founded – SpringHill Entertainment and UNINTERRUPTED. As their CEO, Carter oversees the expanding entertainment companies’ overall strategic directions, spearheads their new business and content development partnerships, and guides their growing multi-platform global distribution efforts. In addition, Carter plays a vital role in all project, partner and talent developments, leveraging key relationships and providing unique insight to create original, exclusive, and authentic content across a variety of mediums.

Throughout his professional journey, Carter has always made the youth and his community a priority. Through his work with the LeBron James Family Foundation and After School All Stars, Carter has helped create the generational change he and LeBron have envisioned since they were just kids from Akron. In 2016, Carter joined the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History founding donor list when he and James contributed $2.5 million to the museum’s exhibit celebrating the storied legacy of Muhammad Ali.

With a steadily expanding portfolio of innovative projects, Carter has quickly become an influential figure in the media and entertainment industry. One of his fastest growing ventures is UNINTERRUPTED, the athlete empowerment company created by Carter and LeBron James in 2015 that provides athletes a platform to develop and amplify their stories. Since its debut, UNINTERRUPTED has forged partnerships with a growing list of industry-leading companies including Warner Bros. Entertainment, Facebook, and Verizon to create and distribute its unique, creative and captivating content globally across multiple platforms. UNINTERRUPTED’s authentic and impactful content includes original series like The Shop with HBO, short films, and feature-length documentaries including The Carter Effect, that debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival to critical acclaim and is now available on Netflix. In addition, UNINTERRUPTED launched its own podcast network featuring in-depth and timely conversations with some of today’s biggest sports and entertainment personalities.

In 2008, Carter and James launched SpringHill Entertainment, an entertainment and content company that develops creative content across a variety of platforms including digital, documentary and feature films, and television. Carter serves as the executive producer on SpringHill’s growing list of compelling and aspirational projects including NBC’s hit primetime game show, The Wall, the powerful documentary Student Athlete on HBO, the critically-acclaimed docuseries Warriors of Liberty City for Starz and Best Shot for YouTube Premium. Walker with Octavia Spencer, drama series Top Boy with Drake and Adel “Future” Nur for Netflix, and a fresh take on the classic House Party for New Line.

As the long-time manager of James’ business interests, Carter was instrumental in securing his lifetime deal with Nike, the largest single-athlete guarantee and the first lifetime commitment in the company’s history. Over the years, James and Carter have built a steadily growing portfolio of business ventures with their investment portfolio including Beats by Dre; The Robot Company, an integrated marketing agency founded by Carter in 2014; Liverpool Football Club, the franchise Carter and James own a stake in through their partnership with Fenway Sports Group; and Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza, the nation’s fastest growing fast-casual pizza chain which Carter and James have been investors in since 2012.
